Steam cooker
Within the cooking equipment category, we also have another variant, a steamer. It is best suited for sausages, which it heats using steam, rather than directly in water, for example. The steamer consists of a water tank with a hollow grate and on top of this is a plastic container approved for use in the food industry. You fill the vat with water and as it heats up it gives off steam, which gently steams the sausages. The sausages will become warm without being cooked. The steamer is switched on by the switch on the front of the appliance and the temperature is easily set using the thermostat. The thermostat turns the heater in the steamer on and off to maintain the set temperature.
The plastic container, sliding lid and perforated grid can be cleaned in the dishwasher, and the outer vat is easily emptied of water using the drain tap on the front of the vat. The steamer is available as a table-top model and is easy to fit in your kitchen.
The transparent plastic container ensures a very good presentation of the sausages, which can lead to additional sales in your hot dog stand, grill bar, etc. The transparent container also means that it is easier for you to keep an eye on the products during cooking and warm keeping, both in terms of quantity and especially appearance. The steamer can become an indispensable appliance in your hot dog stand, grill or cafeteria.
It’s often a question of habits and interior design that determines whether a steamer or other cooking equipment is the best choice. It is not possible to build the steamers into the worktop, which may be a disadvantage for some shop owners. But that’s not a problem, because luckily we have a lot of other cooking equipment that allows you to build into the worktop.
The steamer is a great complement to the sausage grill, allowing you to serve several types of sausages to satisfy the different needs and taste preferences of your customers.
